Please introduce yourself.
My name is Niels Everstijn, and I’m the Cybersecurity Business Unit Manager of Axians in The Netherlands. I’ve been in the IT industry since 1992 and have always been in business development roles. I’m married for over 25 years to Inge, have two boys, and live in the Maas and Waal area. Next to the business as a hobby, I am an official field hockey umpire for a bit over than eight years now.
Would you please introduce Axians to our readers?

Axians, Part of Vinci (France), is an IT systems integrator. With about 12000 colleagues in over 25 countries, we help our customers to improve/accelerate their business by using IT. The areas of expertise are Telecom Infrastructures, Cloud and Data Center, Enterprise Networks, Digital Workplace, Business Applications, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity.
When was the partnership between Cyberworkplace and Axians launched?
The partnership was officially established in 2019. It was initiated by a colleague who was very passionate about the Cyberworkplace approach. He was highly motivated to inspire and guide these talented youngsters and introduce them to the world of networking and cybersecurity. Since then, Axians has supported the mission of Cyberworkplace, training young people to become cybersecurity specialists.
What is the added value to your company?
Axians is a very socially aware organization. Everybody with a passion and talent for cybersecurity should have a chance to develop themselves. With the Cyberworkplace partnership, we help youngsters with a proper introduction to the field of cybersecurity. Cyber professionals are scarce, and we hope to fill that shortage in the labor market with these enthusiastic young professionals.
