Cyberworkplace and The Hague University of Applied Sciences organize a pilot workshop on cybersecurity risk management

On October 15th, Cyberworkplace in collaboration with Safety and Security Management Studies (SSMS) of The Hague University of Applied Sciences is organizing a pilot workshop. In one afternoon, students from both organizations will dive into the world of cybersecurity risk management through a series of presentations, table-top exercises, and more. Peer-to-peer learning techniques will be used to stimulate the practical experience and interaction amongst the participants.

The program will start with a presentation on cybercrime and risk management by Mira Golsteyn, Cyberworkplace chair. Students will learn about the evolution of cybercrime, cyberattacks, types of impact, but also risk assessment and risk management strategies. Dominic Christian, lecturer, Safety and Security Management Studies at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, will give a presentation on the cybersecurity risks that reach far beyond networks and computers. We will look at how cybersecurity affects the ‘real world’: governments, businesses, and people at home, how do we deal with these new threats, and what can physical security and cybersecurity learn from each other. Finally, the students will work together in small groups on a table-top exercise, where they have to design a risk management strategy for the fictional “University of the Western North Sea”. After successful completion of the workshop, the participants will receive a certificate.

We are very excited to work together and look forward to future successful cooperation.

Participation in this workshop is limited to students of Cyberworkplace and Safety and Security Management Studies (SSMS) of The Hague University of Applied Sciences only. Apply now and become a student of Cyberworkplace!
