Please introduce yourself.
Hi! My name is Fleur, I am 25 years old. After finishing my bachelor’s in human resources, I joined Cyberworkplace. I had no prior knowledge about IT, only a huge interest. Eventually Cyberworkplace helped me to make my first steps in IT. Currently, I follow a cybersecurity traineeship.
When did you join Cyberworkplace? What was your motivation?
A friend of mine, and former participant of Cyberworkplace, advised me to join the workshops. I had no prior knowledge about cybersecurity, but I was very eager to learn more about it. My motivation to join Cyberworkplace was initially to learn as much as possible, but ultimately it was the fun during the lessons that kept me motivated as well.
What did you like about Cyberworkplace?
I liked the variety in the content of the lessons and the high learning rate. Besides, I had a lot of fun. At the beginning I was quite nervous about whether I could follow the lessons, but this wasn’t a problem at all. The teachers and students are patient and helpful. There is enough room to ask all your questions. Most of the teachers even share their LinkedIn, so you can connect with them and ask additional questions.
What have you learned at Cyberworkplace?
Among other things, I learned most about digital forensics and (de)coding.
What is your most favorite moment at Cyberworkplace?
I really loved the digital forensics course. My favorite lesson was the guest lecture of Maaike Hielkema, a cybersecurity consultant at NFIR. She gave an introduction on information hiding and recovery. We have learned how to recover deleted files and collect digital evidence. Digital evidence is different from an ordinary one, it can be easily changed and adjusted.
What are you currently up to?
I started at Cyberworkplace with zero experience. A few months later, I have a job in cybersecurity. I follow a traineeship at Motiv ICT Security.
Describe Cyberworkplace with three words?
Learn, work, fun.
Would you recommend Cyberworkplace to your friends? What would you tell them?
Yes! For anyone who is interested in cybersecurity but not yet experienced. Cyberworkplace is the best place to take your first steps in this field. I had no experience myself, but the lessons are easy to follow for everyone. With curiosity, you’re going to learn so much here.
